Maria Jefferson, LPCA
Justice Seeker. Advocate. Purposeful.
I am a bilingual (Spanish/English), bi-cultural, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who is passionate about working with adolescents, adults, and families confronted with challenges caused by adverse childhood experiences, race, religion, and ethnic based trauma, and traumatic experiences that can go unnoticed and unresolved for long periods of time. These issues can create a variety of barriers that block healthy relationships and personal growth and inhibit individuals from discovering their purpose.
I am solution, strength, and client focused, and use and integrate a variety of evidenced-based techniques in both Spanish and English, including Multisystemic Therapy, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, customized and based on a person's individual needs.
My ultimate goal is to offer and provide a safe space, helping my clients reach their goals by discovering a sense of self and purpose through a healing journey, empowering them to learn the tools to break the barriers that limit their personal growth; particularly breaking the barriers that being limited English proficient can create and limit equal access to adequate mental health treatment.
I consider my therapeutic relationship with my clients an honor and privilege, and look forward to working with you and/or your family on your healing journey!
